Living and Learning With Climate Change

About
Climate change is becoming an increasingly anxiety-provoking issue, especially for young people. The Fall 2022 Living with Climate Change learning series addressed this through a series of student-led events (see the CIFAL-UNITAR publication “Youth Championing the SDGs”). The faculty and staff who had initiated and guided the 2022 event series led a follow-up in the academic year of 2023-2024. These events are explored in this publication.

UVic Co-Op Students Advance UN SDGs Through…

About
UVic Co-Op and CIFAL Victoria have partnered to develop a new program providing students on work terms outside Canada with the opportunity to receive UN accreditation. These students must engage in work that advance the UN SDGs as part of their co-op experience. They must also lead a community-based activity that supports the SDGs in their host country. Students share their experiences in this program through this publication.

Youth Championing the SDGs: Living with Climate Change

About
This student-led initiative invited the University of Victoria (UVic) community to engage in a creative exploration of life with climate change. Students explored sustainability and climate change through various arts-based workshops. They shared fresh ideas, creativity, and storytelling to tackle these complex issues. the results of these workshops are explored in this publication.

Charity Infrastructure Renewal: Social & Economic Impact

About
HeroWork Canada led a study to support and substantiate the need for investing in Canada’s charitable infrastructure. This research was in partnership with CIFAL Victoria and funded by the Victoria Foundation. The project aimed to determine the social and economic impact of charity infrastructure renewal.
